Maro will once again celebrate “MAROWEEN”, his popular Chestnut and Sweet Potato Festival. The Halloween weekend and the bridge of the saints , Maro dresses in Fear, the streets are adorned with witches and pumpkins, offering scheduled activities that will take place on October 30 and 31 in the Plaza de la Iglesia.
This party has now reached its twelfth edition. In 2020 the celebration was kept in a virtual format. But this year residents and visitors, children and adults, will once again enjoy fun and music in a terrifying atmosphere at this party that combines the traditional distribution of chestnuts and sweet potatoes with the international Halloween.
Both on Saturday and Sunday the activities will begin with craft workshops and games for boys and girls. On Sunday there will also be a play starring the workshop for the elderly and a zumba show. Music will also be the protagonist both days with performances by DJ Toulalan on Saturday and Plácido Vera on Sunday. On Sunday there will also be a costume contest.
Maroween will also have a market in the Maro parking area, under the church square, and food trucks with food trucks and an area with attractions for the youngest members of the family.
On Sunday, October 31, the City Council will enable a special urban bus service from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. for those who want to attend Maroween.
The buses will leave every hour from Avda. Mediterráneo making the usual stops in Nerja until reaching Maro.
Likewise, the return journey will be every hour from 5:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
