Nerja has decreed the closure of the beaches of the municipality as of this Thursday, July 22, 2021, from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., for any leisure and recreation activity, attending to the proposal planted by the Department of Beaches to comply with the Order of July 21 of the Ministry of Health and Family of the Junta de Andalucía that establishes the measure for coastal municipalities that are at level 3 of health alert, with the aim of curbing coronavirus infections and increasing the rate of incidence in recent days, especially among young people who are the ones who most frequent the beaches at night.
It has been announced that the surveillance and control of the beaches will be intensified in order to comply with the measure, for which the Decree and instructions have been transferred to the Local Police and Civil Protection, as well as the Civil Guard.
The responsibility of residents and visitors has also been appealed. “The health situation is getting worse again, we are already in the fifth wave of infections, and we must exercise extreme caution and strictly comply with the measures to prevent the situation from worsening.”
